The biggest mistake I made in university? Waiting too long to document my journey.
It has been one year since I started documenting my journey here, and honestly, I wish I had started earlier.
When I first began posting, I thought LinkedIn was mainly about jobs. But over time, I learned it is wayyy more than that.
Here are 5 things this past year taught me:
- LinkedIn’s value is in the connections: the people you meet, conversations you start, and relationships you build.
- Students SHOULD post from day one. Not because they are experts, but because they have a journey worth documenting.
- Opportunities come from being seen. Most people know they should build skills, but few realize they should showcase them too.
- LinkedIn helped me stay accountable. When you share your goals and progress, you naturally push yourself to keep going.
- Writing changed me a lottt. It proved that I can stay consistent, even when I don’t feel like it.
+70 posts later, I’ve gained opportunities, connections, lessons, and a record of my own growth, and that’s my favorite part. I can look back and see how much I’ve changed.
